Further dues reduction for October dues
After the Finance Committee and the Executive Committee completed a detailed analysis of the Association’s financial results and forecast, the Board is able to increase the previously announced maintenance fee reduction from $50 to $363 for the month of October. This will be reflected in your October monthly statement that will be mailed to you on Friday September 18, 2020.
The Board will continue to work with management to review expenses and make plans for appropriate adjustment to you monthly dues based on those results.

GREAT news about reopening October 15th with negative Covid test!
Honolulu – Gov. David Ige today announced a new leadership team that will oversee the state’s public health response to COVID-19 and the pre-travel testing program for COVID-19, which will start October 15.
Pre-travel testing enables travelers to avoid a mandatory 14-day quarantine if they are tested no earlier than 72 hours before their flight arrives with an FDA-approved nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), performed using a nasal swab, and can show proof of negative test results from a CLIA certified laboratory. Travelers also will have their temperatures checked upon arrival and must fill out a travel and health form. Upon arrival in Hawai‘i, passengers unable to provide proof of an approved negative test will be required to go into quarantine for 14 days or until they can provide proof of negative test results.
Maj. Gen. Ken Hara, director, Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency, continues his role as incident commander, spearheading the collaboration between federal, state and county resources to address the pandemic response.
Dr. Libby Char, director, State Department of Health, is responsible for the management of the state’s public health programs and collaboration between state, county, and private healthcare partners.
Lt. Gov. Josh Green will spearhead the pre-travel testing program, which includes adding partners to administer the tests and sourcing new testing options and is also responsible for planning the state’s COVID-19 vaccination strategy.
“This new leadership team gives us a stronger operational structure, stronger leadership, and clears the way for stronger partnerships between the public and private sectors,” said Gov. Ige.
Dr. Virginia Pressler, former director of the State Department of Health, has volunteered to lead the Laulima Alliance, a cross functional team of public and private sector resources, ensuring that all have a voice in policy making and implementation of programs responding to the pandemic.
“Together with the progress we’ve made, and continue to make, in the fight against COVID-19, this new leadership team gives us confidence that the time is right to launch our pre-travel COVID-19 testing program, which is an important step toward reviving our economy while continuing to protect public health,” said Gov. Ige.

DUES REDUCTION
After a detailed analysis of our current situation and the current status of COVID travel restrictions, the Board has found a way to reduce the September dues by $287 instead of the $100 reduction announced earlier. We will look at the numbers again to see if an additional further reduction will be possible for the October dues.

More details on new quarantine
INTERISLAND TRAVEL
NEW UPDATE: Effective Tuesday, August 11, the mandatory 14-day self-quarantine will be reinstated for anyone traveling interisland.
The State of Hawaii mandatory interisland travel and health form can now be submitted online within 24 hours of flight departure. This upgrade adds efficiency to the passenger verification process, helps save travelers time and allows information to enter the database in real-time. The form includes health and contact information needed to trace close contacts should a passenger become ill.
Ticketed passengers are encouraged to visit the Hawaii Department of Health travel website to find the digital fillable travel and health form. Once all the required questions have been completed and it is signed and submitted, the passenger will receive an email with a QR code. They should bring the code with them to the airport, either on an electronic device (preferred) or printed. The form may not be completed or submitted outside of the 24-hour time frame. (Please Note: Certain browsers such as Safari and Explorer are slow loading and Chrome is best). Travelers can also download the form in advance, fill it out and print it, and bring it with them to the airport or fill it out at the airport.
Passengers with a temperature of 100.4 or above are not allowed to fly.
